It’s official.

I’m a pessimist.

I’ve been wondering what to fill this “Faith” category with, or if I should even bother. Maybe I should just delete it altogether. Afterall, Faith is not a category of my being so much as it is at the core of all the categories. And not the same faith that is expected by other believers (or non-believers, for that matter). But maybe from time to time it does warrant special standing.

I’ve also often contemplated the whole “believe-and-receive” thing, to no conclusion. Until a couple weeks ago at a women’s meeting, someone said something about “you can’t receive unless you believe”. Ah-ha! So it’s just been backwards in my brain all this time. Nothing new there, but this all makes sense now. So how to change what I believe? Especially when pessimism filters the renewing that reading the Bible could bring?

And today I receive this in my inbox:

Give us 30 Days and we will help you change your outlook on life!

Ya really think so, huh.

During the month of August, Joyce Meyer Ministries is focusing on attitudes that will help you change your outlook on life. Each week in August, the Enjoying Everyday Life broadcast will feature challenging messages from Joyce Meyer. Also, each Monday Joyce’s special guest will be John Maxwell, author of Winning With People.

Winning with people. I could use somma that.

If you want to change your life, make sure to watch our weekday television broadcasts of Enjoying Everyday Life then log on to our website for insightful activities.

At least they’re doing something about it. And by “something” I mean besides leaving me to feel guilty for not buying books I can’t afford.

And be sure to read your copy of the August Enjoying Everyday Life magazine. Make a commitment to join this exciting journey toward a more positive and godly outlook on life — today!

Hmm. I’ve yet to check it out, but it should prove interesting. I’m looking forward to August. Because frankly, sometimes I really even get on my own nerves ;)
