Long Time, No See!

I knew it was a while, I didn’t think it was nearly two months. No one is probably checking any more lol. *shrug*, oh well. Life as a single mom is busy! Even when it seems you don’t really do anything.

Though I have been going out lately. Getting a life and all that. Very cool. Most recently I went to my sister’s for Memorial Day festivities. Hung out with a bunch there, ate well, and made merry. Best part was playing soccer. Can’t remember the last time I’ve experienced any family “activity”. For the past (how long?) any ideas of family activities generally revolved around staring at a screen (big or little), or going to see elderly people (who were perfectly enjoyable and active for their age, but still) where the kids are put off to the side and sometimes poked at. Certainly nothing where everybody interacts. So that was awesome.

Tomorrow I get to go out for dinner, and then bowling on Saturday.

Then Sunday will be laundry. And plenty of it since I didn’t get to do it this past weekend. Yikes! Which brings me to the next big decision of my life…

As one lease expires, is it time to get into another one? I can start month-to-month here, but the laundry hookup being inside my closet just isn’t working. I really do need a washer and dryer but then there would be NO room for my clothes. There’s already not enough room! Plus having to keep the dirty laundry in there because there’s no other place… Did I mention there is no room? There are some apartments across the street where the washer and dryer can actually have a room of their own. Living room is slightly smaller, and the kids’ room considerably smaller, but my room would finally fit a regular-sized bed. Right now I’m still stuck on a twin because with my closet so ‘big’, there’s not even room for a regular bed in what’s left of the space my room takes. It sounds like a no-brainer, but you know me- always afraid to make the wrong decision. But it just got easier because my rent went up $20 and now the other place is only $15 on top of that.

I think I will move. I was hesitant when I looked at it before not just because of the price difference ($35 before my rent went up), but because the walls were all yellowish. Kind of ‘dank’ and dingy looking. I like brightness. Gotta have some sunshine. But the kitchen area is also separate which is also nice. Not to mention my twin mattress I sleep on now is on the floor. Has been for 6 months now. In the new place I can get the bunk bed from the house for the kids, and get my queen bed back from them. That will be sooooo nice!! Maybe the one that is open now will have a more white (or at least neutral!) color to it

I guess there is, then, the matter of coming up with a security deposit. Hmm. Hmm, indeed. Well, I guess if I get that fundage then I will consider it God’s blessing and approval.

Time to feed the kids, and then to try and catch up on some work that I didn’t get finished today. Same as every day, mostly.

:)
